Patient Records
It is the Bogan Shire Medical Centre Policy to ensure that patient health information is managed securely. Patient records are electronic and kept on a separate and secure server in keeping with the Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles. Please see our brochure on “Privacy & Your Rights” if you would like further information.
Patient Identification
It is a requirement by law that you identify yourself to reception staff and other members on the practice team at each contact using the practice 3 identifiers. You will be asked Name, Date of Birth and Address.
Communication
Bogan Shire Medical Centre does not offer communication via Email, SMS or Website concerning patient care. Our policy is that a message will be taken by the care coordinators and delivered to the Doctor during the working day. Either the Doctor or practice staff will return your call with a response. If the call is urgent practice staff will be notified by the Doctor and the call will be put through directly.
Results
As a patient of the Bogan Shire Medical Centre, your results are electronically imported into our system. These results are only accessed by our clinical staff. Once the Doctor reviews results, you may be asked to return for a consultation if required.
